On Tuesday 8 Spetember, Our Lady’s Birthday, we were delighted to welcome Amanda formally into our community.
We were joined by a few priest friends, who witnessed Amanda’s formal reception, a small ceremony in our oratory in which she was given the Divine Office, the Crucifix of the Sisters of the Gospel of Life and a copy of our vision statement (the text of the ceremony is in the next post).
We then has Mass, in which our currently resident deacon, Ross Campbell, preached a rather beautiful sermon that drew a parallel between the simplicity and generosity of Our Lady’s Fiat and Amanda’s.
The celebrations spilled into a sumptious lunch prepared by Sr Roseann. It was a wonderful day altogether and Sr Amanda has been (and is being) a real blessing for us. May we all thrive together in this great adventure of living the Gospel of Life!
Great news! Will remember you all in my prayers.
How wonderful! I will pray for you (I do anyway). I love the image of Our Lady in your photograph – she looks as if she’s leaning through a window to join you.
That is just blessed news. So happy. We will all be praying for you all and your work.
