Prayer for Vocations
A special prayer asking God for vocations to this community.
God our Father,
since the beginning of time
you have called your people to fulfil the role you have given them
and make your name known and loved.
Through your Son, Jesus Christ,
you taught us what it means to be born in your image and likeness.
You formed the Church and called men and women anew
to glorify you and join in Christ’s great work of salvation.
Your silent, compelling Word continues to be spoken
in the hearts of your faithful people.
Inspire and strengthen women now to join the Sisters of the Gospel of Life.
Jesus came that we might have life in abundance,
a call that, today, is sadly misinterpreted.
Grant us the courage and love that we need to rekindle
a sense of hope:
hope that is rooted in a firm knowledge of the
sacredness and dignity of human life,
hope that every life has a meaning and purpose
which is fundamental to your divine plan.
Bring ardent souls to this community so that, in imitation
of our Blessed Lady,
who lived a life of perfect faithfulness in the service of your will,
they too may set the world ablaze with the light of your glory. Amen.
Evangelium Vitae Prayer
We say this prayer every day at 3pm.
O Mary,
bright dawn of the new world,
Mother of the living,
to you do we entrust the cause of life:
Look down, O Mother, upon the vast numbers
of babies not allowed to be born,
of the poor whose lives are made difficult,
of men and women who are victims of brutal violence,
of the elderly and the sick killed by indifference
or out of misguided mercy.
Grant that all who believe in your Son
may proclaim the Gospel of life
with honesty and love to the people of our time.
Obtain for them the grace to accept that Gospel
as a gift ever new,
the joy of celebrating it with gratitude
throughout their lives
and the courage to bear witness to it
resolutely, in order to build,
together with all people of good will,
the civilization of truth and love,
to the praise and glory of God, the Creator and lover of life.
Prayer for our Archbishop
We say this special prayer for Archbishop Tartaglia at the end of our daily Rosary.
God, Eternal Shepherd, you tend your Church in many ways and rule us with love. You have chosen your servant, Philip, to be a shepherd of your flock. Give him a spirit of courage and right judgement, a spirit of knowledge and love. By governing with fidelity those entrusted to his care, may he build your Church as a sign of salvation for the world. Amen.
