Pro-Life Awards- including Sr Roseann

May 9, 2017

We had a great evening on Saturday at the SPUC 2017 Pro-Life Awards Evening. We were welcomed by a piper on the door, and a drink’s reception. Then a new documentary was shown, outlining the history of the pro-life movement in Scotland, over the past 50 years. This was followed by a sumptuous 3 course meal. Finally the awards were presented, by composer Sir James MacMillan. Below is a picture of the winners (including our very own Sr Roseann Reddy) and what they were awarded for. We had some musical interludes by a renowned opera singer and then a talented young singer-songwriter. Our compere for the evening was Deacon Michael Ross. It was a joyful celebration and the awards were a well deserved recognition of much hard work over many years for the pro-life cause.

40 Days For Life Finale

April 12, 2017

Congratulations to the many people who took part in this year’s 40 Days for Life campaign, especially Rose and her team of leaders, who devoted themselves full-time to ensure that the 40 day vigil ran smoothly no matter what the weather. What a wonderful witness they have been to the value of the life of the unborn and that women need loving support in their difficulties, rather than abortion.

The vigil came to an end on Saturday evening, with a candlelit silent hour of prayer. In Glasgow, 118 people took part in this last hour.

There was a closing event on Sunday afternoon- with pro-life speakers in George Square.

Let us continue to pray for an end to abortion, in this the 50th year of the Abortion Act.
