The Knights of St Columba in Barrhead held a fundraising quiz night last Friday and kindly donated £210 to support our pro-life work. May God bless them in all that they do.
The Project Truth Roadshow gets together young people from across the UK to spend a week travelling around Scotland’s towns and cities, bringing the pro-life message to the public with real joy: because life is beautiful. Here’s a link to a video showing what happens on the roadshow.
The week on the road costs over £200 per participant when transport, accommodations, meals and materials are taken in to account. Adding new equipment brings the running costs this year to around £7000.
Below is a Project Truth Wishlist which outlines certain costs. Why not sponsor meals for the week for a young person? Or perhaps a hoody and t-shirt combo? Or maybe your pro-life group would consider sponsoring one of the 9 seater vans? You can donate online by using their GoFundMe page.
Thank you to St Augustine’s Parish in Milton, who collected £250 over lent to donate to our work at the Cardinal Winning Pro-Life Initiative. Sr Roseann joined them for Mass this morning and was presented with a cheque.
Last week, Jess (postulant) attended a charity presentation afternoon at Trinity High School in Renfrew. She was presented with a generous cheque for £600 for the Cardinal Winning Pro-Life Initiative and some bags of donations of baby clothing. We are very grateful for their support. The pupils had made great efforts doing many activities over the year to fundraise for charities and representatives from many different local charities were presented with cheques to help their charity’s work. It was inspiring to hear the commitment and enthusiasm of the pupils in fundraising and volunteering to support charities. Also wonderful to hear about the great work that other charities are doing locally.
This July, Sr Andrea will be one of the leaders of a group of pilgrims who are heading to World Youth Day in Krakow – many of whom are volunteers for the Cardinal Winning Pro-Life Initiative.
In order to make this pilgrimage a reality – the group need to raise funds for travel and accommodation costs.
Please support this event by coming along to the concert they have organised. There will be some great entertainment through a mix of musical genres and it’s BYOB too – why not make a wee night of it.
