Here’s a link http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/you/article-2515041/Jane-Sarluis-diagnosed-recurrence-cancer-second-pregnancy.html to a story where a woman was presented with a cancer diagnosis at 15 weeks pregnant. Her dilemma is described with all the emotions that one would imagine, but the wonderful aspect of this particular story is that she refers to her unborn baby all the way through.
She acknowledges that she has a life growing within her and says at one point, as if there may be another way,
Weighing up the life of our unborn child against the value and quality of my own became a revisited theme during the early weeks of my cancer diagnosis
Although she continued with her pregnancy it is clear that abortion was a possibility at one point however briefly and she describes the emotions she toils with. It is good to hear the emotions of women who have to stand up to the medical profession who are advising abortion or leaving the decision to the woman without any information.
The most important aspect of this story for us is to make sure everyone knows that it is possible to have treatment for cancer while not harming the baby in any way.
